Traveler loafers= Happy feet

"I just received my new Grant Stone Traveler loafer (Tobacco color in calf), yesterday. I tried them on on carpet and walked around. I'm normally a 13 D in most cases (sneakers, Sperry boat shoes, most dress shoes) and I was recommended to get 12 D by Grant Stone (thanks, Kim!). Through our emails, Kim at Grant Stone asked me about other brand's sizes that fit me and I told her I wear a 12D in my Red Wing 875 Moc Toe Heritage Boot. She said most customers opt for the 12 D in the traveler if they like how the 12 D Red Wing fit. It’s smart that they compile that sort of information to be a good resource to their customers. It only behooves both parties to provide as much advice and reference for their sizes: saves a lot of trouble and time on returns, exchanges and frustration! Im glad I went with her advice and ordered the 12 because, I dare say, it fits perfectly. Yes, it feels snug around the vamp in the mornings when I first put them on but that's good and they will break in. After an hour they feel great. There's just the right amount of (very slight) heel slip (which will also go away). When buying new shoes (especially $$ ones) we worry a lot about sizing and how leather feels stiff and tight. It will assuredly "break in". You really do want your loafers to be on the snug size, in width and vamp. Remember kids, leather shoes stretch in width but not in length. I’m very pleased with the quality and fit of my Grant Stone Traveler loafers. They’re beautiful shoes."

First time Grant Stone buyer

"These are my first pair of shoes >$150 and they are fantastic. Agree with the other comments about sizing down. Of note for other first-time buyers. It takes weeks to break them in and there will be some slip at the heel until they are broken in. Also buy the cedar inserts. They help keep the show formed and smell amazing. But overall Grant Stone is a great company to start the journey if you’re looking to explore high quality dress shoes"

Be patient while breaking them in

"These loafers look great in person and can be worn with just about anything. Visually they have some heft to them, which I like. They are well made and very sturdy so the break-in process is taking a while. I get some heel slip and rubbing when I wear these without socks, so I’m not sure if I may have needed a slightly smaller size or if I just need to be patient and allow time to break them in some more. I ordered a half size smaller than my Allen Edmonds Park Avenues, per a recommendation that I received from the GS customer care team. This problem is eliminated when I wear them with a pair of Ondo no show socks. 10/10 would recommend."

Look Amazing, incredibly uncomfortable

"I love how these shoes look. The leather is obviously high quality, and they’re well-constructed. The silhouette is a perfect, classic loafer. They do come with some minor QC issues, which I think is normal for a shoe of this quality in this price range (minor scuffs and stitching issues). The real downside is that they’re insanely uncomfortable. Even after many wears, they’re incredibly stiff and inflict a ton of pressure on my instep. Even though the height is roughly correct, there seems to be an incredibly stiff strip of leather there that is not softening over time. I’m continuing to wear them and like how they look, but I would probably not buy any more shoes from Grant Stone after this."
