"The dune chromexcel leather is stunning right out of the box and it looks like it will age and wear just as beautifully. The traveler loafer is a very comfortable design, i bought this to wear for international travel and even before breaking it in, i’m already certain it will serve me well."
Made with
Goodyear-welt Construction
Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.
Utilizing the
Alexander Last
Explicitly designed for loafers, the Alexander Last features the classic contours and higher sidewalls of a rounded casual-comfort loafer compared to its dressier counterparts. The Alexander Last offers a sleek profile while maintaining a generous toe box, allowing your forefoot generous amounts of room.

Stunning Shoes, Even Better Service!
"These shoes are absolutely beautiful! Finding the right fit was a bit of a challenge, but Kim was incredible, she stuck with me through four exchanges until we nailed the perfect size. I am still breaking them in, but they already feel fantastic and I can’t wait until they are fully molded to my feet! Would recommend picking a pair of these bad boys up and start enjoying heritage shoes!"
Not your grandpa’s stompers
"Sizing any loafer is going to be difficult, but Kim made it really easy. We eventually settled on a full size down from Brannock (I am a TTS 11. 5D and I ordered a 10. 5D in CXL Travelers). I first went with the suggestion of half size down (11 D). After about a week of heavy use (some days I would have about 10k steps in them) I still noticed heel slip in both. My right instep was tight and my left was just right. I then tried the 10. 5Ds and noticed that my heels were making consistent contact with the heel counter and slip wasn’t as much of an issue than with the 11Ds. But in the 10. 5Ds I noticed my left instep was tight and my right was perfect (weird). All in all, I would prefer to size these in person, but this is the nature of the beast. It’s nice to know folks at Grant Stone were willing to work with me until the fit was as close to perfect as we could get it. They do their best to make sure their customers are happy and you can really tell that’s a core pillar for them. Other than sizing woes, the loafers are awesome. They are my go-to beaters. I’ll wear them around the house and out and about. The quality for the price is absolutely mind blowing and they are truly comfortable enough to wear all day. Break in was not super painful for me. Most I felt was some soreness on my instep. The butyl soles are my absolute favorite. I have taken a couple falls on wooden stairs with leather soles, but the butyls provide enough grip that I feel confident in them. I would love to see these on more models. I seriously can’t stress how awesome these soles are. They wear a little differently than “normal” leather soles, but I honestly couldn’t care less. They strike a distinct balance between form and function. Grant Stone has created something truly amazing with the Traveler loafer. I look forward to seeing how these loafers break in further and patina over time."
10/10, no notes
"The quality of these loafers is unmatched at this price point. The style and fit are perfect. The customer service I received while trying to find the right size for my foot was also a masterclass that other brands could learn from. I highly recommend these if you’re thinking about them."
Color Problem
"The type of leather provided with this shoe. Show irregular color along with blemish in the leather itself. In my opinion this is a result of the color. This condition appears not to be the case with a darker color choice. To me it as if a am buying a preowned shoe."
Best shoes I've ever owned.
"Absolutely terrific pair of shoes. Brilliant craftsmanship, stunningly beautiful and fantastic scent on the leather."
"Terrific leather clicking and finishing."
Very comfortable and look sharp
"This is my first pair of penny loafer and I have to say I couldn’t have picked a finer pair. After a few days wearing them around the house to break them in, they fit like a glove and are very comfortable. I will definitely be buying more from Grant Stone in the future."
"An outstanding loafer. I love them"
These are the coolest loafers,
"These are the coolest loafers, I like the color and the fit. I actually like the stiffness of the leather upper. The good year welt stands out better than the blake stitch. It looks really good on this loafer. I will definitely purchase again. When a sale comes around."
Q&A
- Hello, I've just received a new set of Ottowa boots from you. Thanks, they are fantasstic (ORDER 46045). My size is almost perfect in the boot 10D. I would say I could have possibly gone with a 9.5E as the boots are a fraction long and tight. But not by much. Note in Redwing I wear 10.5D and in Viberg 10E. I'm now looking at some Penny Loafers and I would like your guidance on size. Any help greatly appreciated.
- Good morning Andrew, thank you for your inquiry. A majority of our customers will wear the same size in their loafers as the Ottawa Boots as both styles are built on the same last. If you have further questions, we are happy to assist. You can reach out to info@grantstoneboot.com. Enjoy your Ottawa boots!!
