The word “diesel” doesn’t exactly remind us of something flashy but instead of something built for strength and longevity. This is our rendition of the basic plain toe boot pattern—made with nothing but proven leather uppers, lining, and insole.
Chromexcel leather tanned by Horween in Chicago is incredibly resilient while offering unparalleled character. The hot-stuffed tannage's natural oils and waxes create an unmistakable pull-up effect and supple feel.
Creasing and color variation are to be expected on these natural, aniline leathers. Each pair will develop differently as each hide is unique.
This boot comes equipped with our Lug Rubber Sole, which is built to handle all seasons. The rubber compound features a medium density and combines traction and durability.

The Leo last runs a half-size large. Customers typically order a half-size down from their average shoe size.

Derived from our experience fitting and developing various orthopedic-shaped lasts designed for specific foot shapes, the Leo features a moderate arch, heel control, medial support, and forefront freedom. It embodies a traditional welted shoe shape while prioritizing all-day support and comfort.

"Hi, I have purchased three of these terrific boots. They are so comfortable with very short breakin. If it’s been a while since you had leather soles you may find not as much cushion as your regular shoes. Try the rubber soles or the other synthetic soles. Totally love these boots."
"I'll admit that the Dark Olive gave me pause, I wasn't sure what colors I could match with it. Turns out that I can pull it off with everything except green pants. They look great with British Tan, light and dark khaki and denim. Black is iffy but with the right shirt, they work. The quality that GS has built their reputation on is here in force. The stitching on the welts and uppers is superb, care was obviously taken with the clipping and the heel is aligned perfectly and there are no gaps. Chromexcel is almost always a little tough to break in but I was able to wear these for a full day at work after knocking around the house for 8-10 hours over 3 days, I work in outpatient health care so I'm on my feet and moving a lot but there's no rough terrain. Don't be scared of the color, buy a pair."
