"These boon-dockers are stylish and incredibly comfortable. The king of Cool Steve McQueen would love the Grant Stone’s version and vison for this classic United States Marine Boot. Those in the know, know he had a pair in the film The Great Escape. I can guarantee that Grant Stone’s version are of better quality. The comfort and natural look will set you apart. The interior leather is comfortable to your feet. The diesel boot fits so well and these boots will go well with most outfits especially if you’re doing things outdoors. The boots were not my style, and now they are. I Highly recommend grabbing a pair and enjoying them, escape from the normal day in style."

First Class Grant Stone Diesel Boots

"Best Lace up boots I own. I am a 10UK in Shoe normally abd the US 10D in the Leo Last are absolutely perfect in this Boot. Previously I've worn Red Wing, Trumans, Nicks and Whites in quality Lace Ups but none fit as well as these Grant Stone Diesel whilst also having the same attention to detail. In slip ons I also wear Lofgren Engineer Boots which have the same attention to detail and fit brilliantly, however they are over twice the price of the Grant Stone Diesel, so it's a great Boot at superb price point."

Exactly what I was looking for

"I've been looking for a boondocker style boot for a while now and jumped on this as soon as I saw the pre-order sign up. I own the Brass boot in crimson and the penny loafer in loden suede and this is, so far, my favorite purchase from GS. I got hit by 16 inches of snow days after receiving it so I've have been putting it through its paces (though that's not really the intended purpose). Despite being lighter than I thought it would be and not having a storm welt it has functioned fantastically. The shape is the perfect balance of streamlined and rugged and the break-in is almost non-existent; these are extremely cumfortable. I'm particularly impressed by the soles; absolutely no slipping in icy conditions. It looks like it will patina beautifully. My only critical note is that I wish there was gusseting, but that hasn't been a problem thus far. For a casual 3-season boot, this hits all the right notes for me."

"Love this boot so far, if you’re on the fence about the green Dr. sole , don’t be. Hardly noticeable. Same quality you’ve come to expect from the Diesel. Can’t wait to get a nice patina on this."

Natural Roughout vs. Waxy Commander

"The boots fit great and are very comfortable right out of the box. One of the first things that stood out to me was the sole, it’s a unique and interesting color choice that really adds character to the overall design. For comparison, I also own a pair of Diesel boots in Waxy Commander leather from Charles F. Stead. Although the two versions look very similar in photos, they feel completely different in person. The Waxy Commander leather is noticeably stiffer and has a subtle sheen from the applied wax. Over time, though, they’ve aged beautifully, and I really appreciate how that leather develops character with wear. The Diesel boots in Natural Roughout are a completely different experience. The leather feels soft, supple, and far more flexible from the start. There was virtually no break-in period, which honestly surprised me. I was initially concerned they might end up feeling too loose once broken in, but after wearing them on and off for three weeks, they still fit perfectly and haven’t stretched out. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that the Natural Roughout picks up grime from everyday wear more quickly than the Waxy Commander leather. That’s somewhat expected with roughout, but it’s worth noting. That said, the Natural Roughout boots are incredibly versatile. They work well in casual settings but can easily be dressed up for a more semi-formal look. Overall, I’m really impressed with them, great fit, comfortable leather, versatile styling, and a standout sole that gives them a distinctive edge."

Grant Stone Diesel Boots – Natural Roughout

"I've been wanting a pair of these for a while, and after missing the last batch, I made sure to preorder these the moment they went live. I’m happy to say they absolutely did not disappoint. The sizing is perfect for me, and as expected from Grant Stone, the craftsmanship is top notch. Everything about the boots feels well-made and built to last. The Natural Roughout leather looks incredible, and as someone who already loves roughout leather, I’m really hoping Grant Stone continues to release the Diesel in more roughout colors. One of my favorite details on this pair is the green sole. It’s completely different from the soles on my other Diesels and my Brass boots, and I really like the way it sets these apart. The fact that these have a half sole also makes them noticeably more comfortable for me compared to my other pairs. They also look fantastic with pretty much every pair of jeans I own. The Natural Roughout works incredibly well with denim, and these have quickly become one of the pairs I reach for the most. I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments on them, which says a lot because I own several pairs of Grant Stones. Missing the last release definitely worked out in the end because I was ready the second these went live this time. These were absolutely worth the wait and the preorder. If Grant Stone releases more Diesel Roughouts in different colors, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out."
