This Diesel Boot features our new Dr. Sole outsole, which was developed for our last. This bottom is incredibly hard-wearing and offers the classic Dr. Sole half-sole silhouette.
American Bison hides are known for their heavier weight and natural distinctive grain patterns. The prominent pebble effect varies throughout the leather, making each cut unique. This article is tanned with a healthy amount of waxes and oils to create a rich color and pull-up effect. The distinct look and gutsy body of Bison hide make it an excellent choice for Goodyear-welt boots.
Note: This is not a printed grain. The grain pattern on each pair is individual and will vary.

Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.
Derived from our experience fitting and developing various orthopedic-shaped lasts designed for specific foot shapes, the Leo features a moderate arch, heel control, medial support, and forefront freedom. It embodies a traditional welted shoe shape while prioritizing all-day support and comfort.

"Beautiful black bison boots. They are really very nice and comfortable. There is a flare that comes with them that can be seen with the green Dr. Sole’s on them. I wear mostly brown and variations of brown and tan boots and I really like these and have had several compliments about them. They are very stylish and can be worn in both a casual and professional setting. Great to roam the city streets and then look amazing while attending an event at the art museum. I jumped at the chance to do the preorder and they were well worth the wait."

"I received the black bison Diesel boots last week. They are heavy but fit comfortably. I wore them all day on their first outing with no signs of discomfort. The bison is thick and sturdy, and will likely last a lifetime! The texture is just as I was hoping. . . not too deep on the front, with more texture on the upper, allowing for greater versatility across occasions. I would have preferred narrower welts, but that's a personal thing."

"I have a pair of Iron Rangers and Wolverine 1000 Mile boots. These Grant Stones are definitely my favorite. While the other two are great boots, the Diesel construction is noticeably better. The inner lining leather is buttery smooth, and the green soles just look awesome."
"The black Bison Diesel is currently my sixth pair of Grant Stone boots (one Edward, one Garrison, two Brass Boots and one more Diesel) and this one is definitely my current favorite. I really like the look and feel of this remarkable leather with its distinct texture. Plus I appreciate the contrasting midsole/stitching as well. Breaking in may be a bit more challenging though (maybe due to the otherwise great Dr Sole?). Half size down from my Brannock seems perfect. Overall a winner for sure!"
