The Field Boot pattern is dedicated to the long weekends spent outdoors. It has the feel of a vintage leather hunting boot, utilizing stout leathers and the time-tested Goodyear-welt construction. Most importantly, leather components are used throughout the boot to create the foundation to withstand years of wear.

The shaft is slightly taller than our average boot, but the unlined shaft construction and padded collar offer a soft feel from the first wear. While the pattern and robust materials create a strong base, the key is the full-fitting Floyd last. It prioritizes forefoot freedom which is crucial for all-day comfort. The Field boot is designed for walking, working, and long weekend adventures.

The Badalassi Carlo Tannery's Minerva leather is one of our favorites. This boutique Italian tannery specializes in vegetable tanning. During the process, the leather is placed in a 'Bottali', which is a large barrel that rotates, allowing the organic tanning substances to stay in contact with the article. A complete cycle may take 30 - 35 days. The result is an incredibly rich leather with transparency and depth.

The leather can have prominent vamp breaks and a variation of colors. Since this is a light-colored vegetable-tanned article, there may be areas on the boot which have darker hues.

Field Boot Saddle Tan

$348.00 Regular price $435.00

Made with

Goodyear-welt Construction

Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.

Utilizing our

Floyd Last

The Floyd Last is a modified version of the Leo and shares many of the same features: a moderate arch, heel control, medial support, and forefront freedom. In contrast to its progeniture, the Floyd last features a taller, more voluminous toe box, providing a classic Americana workwear look.

Amazing boots!

"They look great, the fit is great for the 1/2 size less that they usually recommend. And everybody commented on them, absolute win"

Agustin G. (5/5)

Well made, primo packaging and comfort right out of the box.

"Well crafted, beautiful leather and nice sole. No break in period needed. Beautiful packaging equals or beats the best of the premium brands."

Love these boots! They were

"Love these boots! They were comfortable out of the box and fit perfect. Will be purchasing again if they ever come back in stock."

Treven N. (5/5)

Perfect roomy fit but comfortable to walk around everyday pair

"Fantastic boots, lots of interesting stories to tell after aging with these bad boys. Only con for that 1 less star was the D ring. They somehow irritated my skin at the ankle of the ankles and caused a skin peeling. I'm looking forward to taking these out from a local cobbler and just replacing them with speed hooks or something. But other than that, very comfortable sole, lighter than brass boot, and eye-catching color of saddle tan."

Jin L. (4/5)

Second Pair of Field Boots

"These boots are amazing. They're my second pair of Field Boots. My first pair are in Dark Burgundy Kudu and I love them however, they are a little larger than I prefer. With the Saddle Tan, I ordered size 9, a 1/2 size down from the Kudu and a full size down from my brannock size of 10. I found dropping a full size made these boots a perfect fit. Interestingly, my Diesel Boots are a 9. 5 and fit perfect. I am in awe over the Badalassi Saddle Tan. An amazing leather!"

Impressive

"Have not found a stitch out of place…and there are a LOT of stitches! These things are massively impressive. I’m personally fortunate that these seem to not have caught on so they are on sale, but at full price they would be totally worth it. They are gorgeous and have a wonderful nostalgic quality even though I’m not a boot expert so I didn’t know they are kind of 50’s throwbacks until after I bought them and caught a random video on them. Only issues are these- Sizing is BIG! For both these and the Brass Boots I wish I would have gone 1/2 down from what I wear with all other stitch-down type boots. I bought leather insoles from Rose Anvil for both pairs so my feet weren’t floating in them. Second issue is my own fault not knowing enough about this type of leather- Put conditioner/water sealer on them before you wear if you don’t want any water spots. Yes, again the only things I can find “wrong” are totally my fault. I hit them with Jim Green boot balm later and it didn’t actually change the color hardly at all and I can wipe off drops now with no staining. So the only negatives are self-inflicted and easily fixable. They’re great."

Steven F. (5/5)

"Great. Except really hard to find the right fit"

Paul (4/5)

Awesome boots!

"Boots look great and feel amazing. The cushioning is very comfortable but not so soft to be unstable. These are my second pair of Field Boots because I think highly of them. I ordered some thicker laces for both pairs as the ones that come with the boots are very thin, like dress shoe laces. Nothing wrong with them, just not the laces for me. Many reviews say they are for winter or cold weather but I wear them in warm weather up to the 80’s and they feel fine."

Justin C. (5/5)

Great

"Excellent quality and excited to see the leather age."

Q&A

how are the soles in the snow ?
This outsole has a medium density to it compared to high density outsole such as our micro stud rubber or leather outsoles. Because of this, we find that with each step, there is a some cushioning effect and better grip. We find that harder outsoles, on the other hand, tend to slip and slid easier on snow due to their inflexible nature.
