I’ve had a few other fantastic pairs over the years—including color 8 Alden 986s and some very fun chonk-fers from unmarked. But grantstone Traveler pennies are without a doubt what’s truly broken my loafer seal.
The chestnut calf pair is absolutely beautiful, and the storm suede snapped into being one of my most comfortable pairs within weeks, and goes with WAY more than I suspected it would (so far this summer, basically…everything).

Summer shoes! Those are just…boots, right? Apparently not!

Been completely obsessed with these grantstone chestnut calf loafers since I got them. Been mostly pulling extensive house shoe duty so far, but Spring is finally starting to be a real thing so it’s time to TURN THEM LOOSE.

LOAFER SEASON!!
The shoe journey is all about exploration, and pushing yourself to places you didn’t previously feel completely comfortable. This spring and summer, it’s time for me to become an official loaferperson.
While my first instinct was suede—it’s just more casual—I quickly veered off that path (for now) and decided on grantstone’s veg-tan Chestnut calf. This stuff is BUTTER.
I absolutely love the way a fine calf patinas over time—as much as I (somewhat obviously) love beaten up boots, there’s really nothing quite like an old, loved pair of dress shoes.
My plan is to baby these guys in some ways (trees in, product when needed, all that) while just completely turning them loose in others (they spent their first afternoon at a farm). I’m pretty excited to see and share the results.
Oh and at under $300 (the same as all of Grant Stone’s loafers), the value on these is absolutely insane.
