Variations of the Chelsea boot have been a staple worldwide for nearly two centuries. This slip-on pattern dates back to the early 1800s as a riding boot, which is how it originally earned the 'Paddock boot' name. Only in the mid-1900s, when the boot was popular in England, was it referred to as a Chelsea, a district in southwest London.
This pattern carries over to multiple categories. It's easily dressed up or down, and in certain parts of the world, it's a preferred style for work boots, given the closed pattern and slip-on practicality.
Chromexcel leather tanned by Horween in Chicago is incredibly resilient while offering unparalleled character. The hot-stuffed tannage's natural oils and waxes create an unmistakable pull-up effect and supple feel.
The UK last fits half a size large and has a fuller fit throughout, similar to our Leo last.

This boot is a tank
"I own a pair of Earth Chelsea boots. These are very well constructed and you can tell there was a lot of effort in the craftsmanship of these boots. The earth rough out leather is gorgeous and versatile with several outfits. What's preventing me from giving this five stars is the sizing and feel on my foot. I'm a brannock 11. 5 D and ordered half a size down (11D) per the fitting guide. It's still a little loose along my ankles. I tried tongue pads to make it more secure at the top of my foot, but those just aggravated my feet and didn't feel comfortable. Thicker wool socks sometimes helps and heel lifts (for my Achilles tendonitis) and that helps lock the foot more in place but still not as secure as I'd like. Overall a great Chelsea boot and worthy of any collection."

"Contacted their customer service with my metric measurements and they mapped to their sizing for their Chelsea last. Upon arrival, I was so pleasantly surprised that it fit perfectly. Packaging and presentation were all properly premium. I ordered their cedar shoe trees, and not only did they insert them into the boots for shipping, but I think they even corrected the size as I may have ordered too large. Only one complaint (that won’t affect my rating) is that the sole is competent for most weather, but bringing these to my home in snowy Sapporo Japan falls rather short for winter; anything even remotely icy might as well be a flat leather sole, so I wish a slightly more rugged or textured sole was an option. Overall GS is the best quality and built boot you can get for arguably twice the price. Will definitely be buying more."
