The Brass Boot combines robust leathers, rugged outsoles, and all-day comfort. The moc toe is hand-sewn onto a one-piece vamp. The Floyd last features the same locked-in heel control but with higher walls at the toe box to allow forefoot freedom.
The Badalassi Carlo Tannery's Minerva leather is one of our favorites. This boutique Italian tannery specializes in vegetable tanning. During the process, the leather is placed in a 'Bottali,' a large barrel that rotates, allowing the organic tanning substances to stay in contact with the article. A complete cycle may take 30 - 35 days. The result is a vibrant leather with transparency and depth.
The leather can have prominent vamp breaks and a variation of colors. Since this is a light-colored vegetable-tanned article, areas on the boot may have darker hues.- Goodyear-welt construction

The Floyd last runs a half-size large. Our customers typically take our Floyd-lasted footwear a half-size down from their average size. However, if you have low volume feet, you may want to go a full size down.

"When you close you eyes and dream of leather, Saddle Tan (Minerva from Badalassi Carlo) is probably what you’re thinking of. Fantastic rich color, sturdy, and will eventually patina nicely. I love this boot, sadly it’s now discontinued as I prefer the wedge sole for daily wear. Fantastic craftsmanship from the guys and gals, and Grant Stone once again."

"One of the best and most well made boots I have had and I have had it all. A great alternative for my JK logger boots for having enough of a winter ware as well as not overwhelming the feet with heavyweight boots. Fit is spot on. I am a 6’6 tall 185lbs and size 13 in shoes (size 14 in sneakers) and these fit spot on even with my orthotic inserts. Materials are luxurious and authentic and construction is indeed a homage to true craftsmanship worthy of every self respecting men."

- What type of conditioner do you recommend I use on these?
- The majority of our customers will use the Saphir Renovator or the Venetian cream we sell on our website to condition and hydrate the uppers. You can use some of the other products as well, but this upper may not hold the mirror shine as well as others. You may want to start with the polish towards the heels of the boots moving forward from there as this leather will soak up a lot of the Venetian or Renovator as it's naturally a drier vegetable tanned leather by nature. - how long will this eva sole last compare to the black lug
- It will be close due to the thickness of the EVA. The lug will feel like there is more traction on most wet surfaces, however, though it is marginal.
