Tanned by Charles F. Stead in England, Bronze Rough Suede features a nappy finish, creating a rough and natural texture in a rich leather. This comfortable and chunky casual leather will have a wide range of nappiness to the suede. Due to the highly exaggerated and irregular nap of leather, variation should be expected. No two pairs will be the same.

The Brass Boot is a combination of robust leathers, rugged outsoles, and all-day comfort. The moc toe is hand-sewn onto a one-piece vamp. The Floyd last features the same locked-in heel control but with higher walls at the toe box to allow forefoot freedom.

This boot utilizes our lug sole, designed for harsher conditions. The taller lugs and medium-density compound offer a combination of traction and durability.

  • Goodyear-welt construction
  • Floyd last
  • Rough Mohawk from Charles F. Stead
  • Handsewn moc-toe stitching
  • Full-grain leather kip lining
  • 360º split-reverse welt
  • Antique brass eyelets and speed hooks
  • Vegetable-tanned leather insole, welt, and midsole
  • Cork filler with steel shank
  • Full-grain leather heel counters
  • Lug rubber outsole

Every pair crafted in our factory on Xiamen Island, China

The Floyd last runs a half-size large. Our customers typically take our Floyd-lasted footwear a half-size down from their average size. However, if you have low volume feet, you may want to go a full size down.

Brass Boot Bronze Rough Suede

$318.00 Regular price $380.00

Made with

Goodyear-welt Construction

Renowned for its durability and ability to be resoled repeatedly, Goodyear-welt construction involves stitching a welt—a strip of leather—around the shoe's perimeter, creating a cavity. After filling the cavity with the shank and cork, the sole is attached, providing strength and water resistance. This construction method results in shoes that are not only long-lasting but also easily repairable, making them a timeless investment in quality craftsmanship.

Utilizing our

Floyd Last

The Floyd Last is a modified version of the Leo and shares many of the same features: a moderate arch, heel control, medial support, and forefront freedom. In contrast to its progeniture, the Floyd last features a taller, more voluminous toe box, providing a classic Americana workwear look.

Reviews

First GS Purchase

"This was my first order from Grant Stone, and I’m impressed with the quality, style, and materials. I ordered a 8. 5E for my 9. 0E Brannock sizing, and the fit is good."

The silhouette of both the

"The silhouette of both the Brass and especially the Diesel boots are superb but the Floyd last used for the Brass Boot seems to give me a tad more room in the toe box and better accommodates my steep instep. The character and style of the Bronze rough suede boot immediately struck me as resembling a buffalo hide and that gave me an idea. . . so I ordered a bison leather kiltie to pair with these boots and people really get a kick out of them. Of course all the standard attributes are present - impeccable attention to the stitching and assembly detail, top materials and comfortable fit with a reasonably easy break in period. What is not to love about me affectionately named "Buffalo Boots" : )"

"So much style and a great fit too!"

Grant Stone Brass Boot – Bronze Rough Suede

"I absolutely love this boot. It’s admittedly a bold choice—probably not the first pick for someone building a minimalist rotation—but for those with a larger collection or an eye for standout pieces, it’s a gem. This isn’t your everyday boot, and that’s exactly the point. Despite its distinct look, the Bronze Rough Suede is more versatile than you might expect. It pairs effortlessly with jeans and a flannel for a rugged vibe, but it also plays nicely with corduroy pants or khakis and a cardigan for a more refined, seasonal look. I’d say it really shines in the cooler months—definitely a Fall and Winter staple in my rotation. What keeps me reaching for this pair is how interesting it always feels. The suede has such a unique texture and tone that it never feels boring or routine. And combined with the Brass Boot’s rugged-yet-refined silhouette (a personal favorite of mine), this makeup is something truly special. It’s a boot that sparks curiosity—and that’s saying something in a lineup as deep as mine."

Gabe L. (5/5)

Great boot

"This is an excellent boot and it is very comfortable. The rough suede is really neat and has tons of character. The boots are very comfortable, and they are starting to break in nicely. The only con that I have encountered so far is that they are a bit difficult to keep clean because everything catches in them. That is to be expected, though."

Good except for damages

"Boots are well made and have gotten comfortable over a couple of weeks. My only complaint is a big scratch in the toe of the right boot which I noticed immediately upon unbound (quite a nice unboxing experience). I contacted support and they immediately made good on this damage."

Hairy Coo boots

"My hairy coo boots look great with the right outfit. More an edgy look towards chino than jeans. Pairs well with suede leather jacket. Comfortable to wear with good construction quality."

"Great boots as always."
